Oh, the Blatent WhoringSo, you're going to a convention, it's a casual day for you, but you would rather dress up like a Kardashian and hang yourself rather than show up without expressing your love for a certain fandom. Well how about a snazzy new shirt? Could Zack Fair help? http://society6.com/KKoji/Zack-Fair_T-shirt#11=50&4=84 or are you more gothic and need to show up everyone with Undertaker? http://society6.com/KKoji/Undertaker_T-shirt#11=50&4=75? Decisions, decisions. The geeks who aren't hating on you out of envy, will mercilessly hit on you after seeing you sport these fantastic togs! http://society6.com/KKoji/tshirts (you can customize your own colours too!)
"But Koji" you say, "I have this elaborately lovely costume I'm wearing :[ ! A T-shirt over a green chocobo outfit would make me the laughing stock!".
Now now, dear heart. It will be ok. For perhaps you could carry all those freebies and flyers or hell, even your lunch in a fabulous Koji Tote bag? So MANY to choose fr
Blankies and dogs?Even though summer is imminent, you often find yourself on your couch, watching Honey Boo Boo, thinking; "I'm rather chilly o_o. OMG I'M CHILLY." . :iconitscoldplz:
As weak first-worlders, we would rather blast the air conditioning and bundle up then turn it down and rely on the earth to temperature regulate humanity.
Then you look to your left, and find a sub-standard looking male of the species sitting there beside you, nurturing his growing gut with his third can of beer, and complaining that you never watch what he wants to watch. :iconverynotimpressedplz:
PillooowwsFirst, sorry if I'm journal spamming this last week. I've written 3 fairly close together, when prior to that I haven't written in a month .
But I made pillows
I hope they look ok. I think they do.
No, I'm not pressuring or begging for anyone to buy anything ( but who doesn't need a naked Sephiroth pillow? .. ). I just think pillows are kinda neat for some reason.
..which is surprising, since my mother was always the type to decorate beds with like, 18 pillows~ you'd think I'd have an aversion to them ( know anyone who does that? They have a bed or couch with like, 20 "decorative pillows? An then when you want to get in bed, you have to remove 18 of them to get to the sleeping pillow? )
Bad Teachers and Egotistical Jerkwads Good lord, another journal. Well, sometimes I go for a month without writing one, so suffer! :iconinuevillaughplz:
I've been asked about this recently, so thought I'd write about it just in case someone else might relate or find it encouraging.
A lot of people are surprised to hear that I have only been painting since 2011. Well, it's true . I had coloured a few line arts here and there before that, but I never really tried at painting. I was dabbling and just slapping on colour, not bothering to figure out the programs or anything. Because I truly didn't believe I could do it.
Backing up a bit, I'm someone who was a traditional artist. I have been drawing with pencils and paper since I was just a little tyke. Naturally, I wanted everything to do with art in school. :iconhandsomeonionplz:
And that's where this little tale turns dark and mildly depressing :icon0inuscreamplz:

Dear Puppy Dog Dear Puppy Dog,
We have only known each other for 6 weeks, and I have already come to kind of adore you. But there are certain things I've yet to understand.
You don't seem to respect any boundaries. I know you're a baby and all, but how many times will you run out into the living room, amongst company, chewing on my underwear? How do you even get my underwear? Why is it so fascinating to you? D: :iconstunplz:
I tried to follow what the other dog owners said to train you to sleep in your little crate. But you screamed and carried on like I was sawing your leg off, all night. This is an apartment building, and I have neighbours to think about, and I think you know that. I even tried to sleep on the floor in front of your crate, where you could easily see me, but that ONE barrier (the door on your crate), seemed to drive you mental. Like that thin piece of plastic was a stone wall 4 metres thick . Or like the Wall in Game of Thrones. :ico
First, I will pick a person from the favs on this journal with a random number generator and give them 250 points
It just occurred to me that I am about 9k away from 300k page views.
How about that
I know the last two times I offered a drawing, but unfortunately, I don't have time this year ;_; .
So, for the FIRST PERSON to send me a NOTE (private note) with a screenshot of my 300,000 pageviews, you get a prize
Don't get too excited~
I will send that person either a free bed pillow case or throw pillow case: from my shop :iconinuderpplz:

SNIPPY: QUESTIONABLE REALITYI definitely thought about killing Captain, especially after several pranks that were pulled on me like that time when I woke up with a bucket super-glued to my head and declared "iron man".
Or that time when Captain made a soup out of my gas mask filters because the broth needed the "Smooth flavour of Snippy" and salt wasn't available... so I had to roam the decaying shopping malls for a new pair.
Or that time when Captain pushed me into a watery abyss inside a wooden barrel to celebrate "Niagara falls day".
Have my thoughts become so compounded as to finally cause schizophrenia?
...Am I a stone throw away from becoming like Pilot, talking to pet rocks and building the Bastion of Captania out of rotting shoe boxes?
And if I were to kill Captain who would I have left?
I must have been talking out loud like those crazy hobos that lived outside the protectorate dome that communicated with radioactive rain clouds via conversations of interpretive dance, until they were consumed by a famil
Complaint Challenge Contest!
We got our complaints out in December 2012. Now, 2013 is about doing something productive with them. I am not going to sit and grumble about my pet peeves. Neither should you!
Anyone who knows me should have been suspicious from the start of Phase 1 because complaining is one of my own complaints. (And you saw this trick last year!) That's right. I complain about people complaining. Silly, yes? Well I decided to do something about it with this challenge.
I hope everyone enjoyed sharing their gripes in Phase 1 because it is time for Phase 2! And Phase 2 is open to everyone, even if you didn't participate in Phase 1, or decided to change what complaint you'd like to address!
Complaint Challenge – Phase 2
The challenge in a nutshell: Pick one of your dA complaints and do something proactive about it. Work toward a solution or improvement in a positive way.
Now a few of you are probably thinking things like, "I

So, why don’t you start this interview presenting yourself to our friends here and telling us a bit about you?
Hello fellow deviants! My name is April Schumacher, and I'm a traditional artist working as a freelance illustrator. Though I grew up in the state of Iowa, I moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to attend the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) to major in illustration, and graduated in May of 2008. I'm still in Minneapolis, alive and kicking.
So, now let’s start the interview for go

Endless imaginationI must say, I have been quite impressed lately with the CVs o deviant art cleaning up the site and removing tons and tons of inappropriate content and resources that truly are not resources, I tip my hat to you all! Not only am I happy with these people, I am overly happy with the art I have had the pleasure of viewing as of late, Deviant Art is a little more reminiscent of when I first joined, the happiness and joy of finding new, talented people here, opening my inbox and receiving praise of works I put so much effort in, but most of all the beautiful art the people I watch, and hope to watch in the future are creating, here is a handful of the amazing works I have been lucky to see.

Points Challenge: Be A Hero, Report a Miscat!
Miscats: What are they? Why do they matter? How do they happen?
REMINDER: This challenge is only open until October 31st! Get your comments in by then or miss out on points!
A "miscat" is a deviation that has been submitted to the wrong gallery, or mis-categorized, on deviantART. For example, literature does not belong in the photography gallery, even if there is a photograph supplied as a preview picture for the writing.
They matter for several reasons. Miscats make searching for specific types of deviations tedious, particularly if you are looking for newer submissions. A search of the Writing Tutorials gallery for popular deviations in the last 24 hours brought up four deviations, all miscats. Miscats also make the site disorganized and even harder to navigate for new comers. Lastly, they make your work harder to reach by taking up space in the wrong gallery.
I'm sure others can think of reasons why miscats are annoying, and I invite you to leav

100 Poem Feature Journal September 2014Hello Fellow Poet Meisters!
So here I am again with another journal feature, which focuses on that singular entity: poetry. What you are about to read are some of the greatest talent to pick up a pen, type on a keyboard or think up a brand new original stream of conscious thought. I've tried to keep the mix of poems as eclectic and varied as possible. Well instead of me babbling on I believe I'll let the poets' work speak for themselves.

Spotlight Features - Vol. 18A news series featuring art selected by me. There will be a wide range of themes and genres covered. In addition, there will be periodic interviews and artist spotlights.
If you like this article, please add it to your favorites to help spread the love for the art and artists within.
On my profile page, I feature a new deviation every day (or two or three). The piece is usually something that caught my eye. Could be an amazing digital painting, a fun stamp, a quick photograph that made me smile, perhaps a piece for a weekly theme, whatever. However, it moved me enough to share it with my visitors. Below is a list of the artists which I featured during December 2012. I am showcasing different pieces from their gallery in the hope of showing them a bit more love. If you would like to see the original piece I featured of each of these artists, please visit
Complaint Challenge Results! [Phase 1]I received more than double the entries from last year to the Complaint Challenge! There are definite serious business complaints, but what always amazes me are the deviant conversations that spring up. You can even find a couple posts with replies for assistance. This makes me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.
Many of you know what Phase 2 is all about, so I expect if you've entered Phase 1, you'll at least try to enter Phase 2. If you can spare the effort to complain, you can spare the effort to do something about your complaint! There will be more on that tomorrow tonight so check back then!
For now, let's announce those random prize winners!
Anyone who submitted an eligible entry had their name placed in a drawing and these were selected at random for prizes!
WolfPawCreator won 200 points!
SkysongMA won 100 points!

A Celebration of AgeGetting old is seen by so many as something to avoid, complain about, joke about and perhaps even ignore until it won't go away any longer. Age for many when they pass a certain milestone of years, becomes a curse or something to be ashamed of. Hair colours are constantly covered over in favour of looking young and ageless as much as possible.
Skin is constantly plastered with all manner of creams and lotions to try and prevent the rivers of life carving a niche into the flesh. Bodies are worked until they can work no longer to try and force them into retaining their youthful shape and feel but in reality we don't stop and recognise, not even for a moment - that age is beautiful.
We forget, and barely acknowledge for most of the time, that age is associated with increased diversity. You will find a more diverse people in a room of seventy year old people, than you will in a room of seventeen year old people. The wisdom, experience and attitude of

Tell us what defines you as a person.
I suppose you could call me an observer of life (some may call me a daydreamer!) .
I love being amongst family, friends and people but I also like being alone to contemplate the life around me. I can be very driven too and when I get into my Zone with painting, it almost becomes an obsession, I forget everything aro
