Much like everyone else I changed my username lol.
I kept it pretty similar, and easy to remember- but I wanted to make it shorter :/
In other news~ I've been getting some of the oddest comments on artwork lol. People should learn how to critique, or at
least read the artist's comments before they type in my opnion.
I suppose that's the challenge of doing fan art~ you get fantards ( I'm a fantard ;D ) trying to correct you on what they personally believe something should be like. Even if it's an artist interpretation on a detail never officially released, or that's just never been covered.
I've had comments where they ignore the art, ignore artist comments, ( even one that says.."No Critique Desired) and focus on anything from:
-what side of the head a character's hair is parted on
-If the character is a righty, or a lefty in how they hold things
- skin tone.. they're either too pale, or too tanned etc
- his eyes are the wrong colour ( this one ..the person has always been wrong)
- That character would never wear that!
- That character would never be with THAT person! They absolutely LOVE "X" - I know it! My head gremlins tell me so.
- Their hair is a bit too long, or short, or not dark enough, or too dark
- That character isn't that muscular! ( why, do you know him irl? Did the game ever show him without his shirt on? )
- That character would NEVER have that many tattoos under his shirt. They aren't that VAIN ( cause tattoo's are only about vanity.. ) yeah ...9 times out of 10, I've looked into their "critiques" and they're wrong. You slap them with proof and they go:
" I could have SWORN he was a lefty... It's even been so rude to me, that they tell me such a detail
destroyed the picture and how could I do that?
Those aren't critiques though, they're usually just statements where someone ignores the artwork (and artist comments) and just zero's in on anything they can find fault with in their head. I'm probably going to start ignoring these types of comments. People have to understand that many times, it's an
artistic interpretation- it's how the artist wants to portray that character in their own vision ( for me, many times these are commissions and I work with the commissioner and do *their* vision), and it won't necessarily match
their personal interpretation of the character. And if they strongly dislike it, that's totally fine. They're always welcome to draw their OWN interpretation however they see fit.

"...but..but..HE DOESN'T DRIVE A CAR!"
"She never wore THAT, that's totally the wrong shade of red, are you colour-blind?!"
"He has a prettier face - you so totally ruined it for me now!"
"OMG - you made her OLD!!! She has wrinkles! OMG! HOW COULD YOU?!"
